Rapeplay
I was reading my usual blogs today when I saw this on Mihow. Read the article before reading what I have to say…..I’ll wait.
You know, I was one of the people who rolled my eyes when people were screaming about some video games being too violent and too bloody. This is the line though. A game that simulates rape is just too much for me. Violence against women is something that is a real problem all over the world and I just can’t seem to make myself see how this can be even slightly ok. Can’t do it.
What’s worse is that this game was released in 2006. We’re only hearing about it now. Where is the sensationalist media (besides following that waste of space Paris Hilton)? Where are all those angry activists now? Should it matter that this game is domestic to Japan and not sold to the U.S.? We stick our noses in other countries’ business all the freaking time. This one I would support. We had to pressure the Japanese to stop with the child porn, why can’t we just go over there and say, “Look, rape. That’s not funny. Stop with the rape games, ok?” It’s one freaking company that has made other games of the same nature. Why aren’t there more people screaming about this? What the fuck?

This was pointed out to me. I sat on my couch and cried and tried to ignore Jessie’s persistent “WHAT’S THE MATTER?”
This is the blog of a dying woman. By the time some of you get around to reading this, this lady may have already passed. She has Ovarian Cancer and has been brutally honest in this blog about her chemo, sickness, and finally the decision to die in peace with her family. She’s 42 years old and she will leave behind her a husband of 12 years, an 11 year old daughter, and an 8 year old daughter.
Her blog is being taken care of by a friend as she is now in her final stages of death. I think it’s worth five minutes to at least read a little bit of this and recognize someone who has been brave enough to share their issues with death. Pass on your wishes and prayers in the comments section to her family.

So I’m back on the lose-some-of-this-weight-off-my-fat-ass wagon. Yeah. Again. I went to the gym that this complex offers residents for free and was so happy ot see that it was empty. I was able to get on a treadmill, listen to my mp3 player, and run/speedwalk for a half hour. I’m also really happy that no one else was in there because when my exercise was finished and I stepped off of the treadmill, my legs were so rubbery that I fell over. Yup…fell over sideways in a completely ungraceful manner. It occured to me as my head was bouncing off of the floor that maybe I should take it a little easier next time. I’m just so damned smooth.
I’m hoping to lose enogh weight to buy a new bathing suit this summer. After Lukas and the stretch marks and the loose skin on my abdomen, bikinis are out of the question for the rest of my life. Hey, I had a good run. However, I found a bathing suit that I consider to be just as sexy as a bikini and maybe a little more age appropriate. Remember that site ModCloth that I showed you a week or so ago? Well they have a few bathing suitsx that are very retro. They are one-piece and I simply adore them. I want one. I’m partial to the polka dot one, but I also like the red. What do you guys think?

Kind of a 50s bombshell look. Seriously, Mom. I’m not showing my stomach to the light of day EVER AGAIN so don’t try to tell me that bikinis are ok. My stomach is the skin equivalent to a turkey neck.
