OH GOH!
This is sort of a conituation of the last post. Lukas is talking so much now. It seems that since I last posted it’s like a switch was turned on and he has turned into a complete jabber jaw. What’s really funny is when he says things in context and it’s exactly what Jessie or I would say. This happened on Thursday morning and was so funny that I thought it would be a crime to not share it.
As you know, Lukas is now sleeping in a toddler bed instead of a crib. I haven’t had a single bit of trouble with him getting out of his bed when he is supposed to be sleeping. He has fallen out of it twice and it scared the crap out of him, but usually he stays in his bed and chews the wood (so the plan to switch the bed to keep him from eating it didn’t work). On Thursday morning, I woke up and I heard through the baby monitor this really strange noise coming from Lukas’ room. I got up and made the trek down the hallway to the nursery. I had a little trouble opening the door, but when I finally got it open, I was greeted with a disaster area. Books were everywhere, diapers were everywhere, stuffed animals were everywhere, a small jar of Vaseline had been opened and was smeared all over everything, and it was basically mayhem. I had about 1 second to gather this all in before my eyes focused in on my baby boy sitting atop a pile of books chewing on one of his shoes. He slowly looked back at me, got a guilty look on his face and said, “OH GOH!”
If I were going to get upset over this mess, that stopped as soon as he spoke and I immediately fell to the floor in laughter. I think that he may have fallen out of bed again, only this time it didn’t scare him and he decided to entertain himself and let Momma sleep in a bit. He hasn’t gotten out of his bed on his own since. Oh, my friends, having kids is so much fun, and the fun is much more prevalent in life than the sacrifices made for them or the work put into them or the frustration caused by them. I don’t know how I had anything to laugh at before Lukas.

LOL! It’s crazy someone so small can tell, just by knowing himself, that he’s in trouble…and it is soooo hard (at least for me) to punich any small child because when they make a funny comment, I laugh…and laughing gives the wrong impression because I am supposed to be mad, LOL…
Do you cuss at all in front of Lukas? It sounds as if no because those are always the words that kids pick up and blurt out at the wrong moment, lol!

I wasn’t able to be mad at him after he said that. I cleaned up the mess he’d made laughing like an idiot
Yes, we still cuss a little bit in front of him. We’re trying to catch ourselves and stop since we are moving closer to family and we don’t need him to walk up to a cousin or grandparent and say “How ya doin, motha fucka?”

OMG! I would piss myself if I met Lukas and he said anything remotely close to that, HAHAHAHAHA!
On another note…have you talked to Helen? Her house flooded
There are pics on her sister-in-laws facebook…it was really shitty!
