I actually do have a messenger bag for Annie :) It's made for a dog, so it's perfect and has a mesh-like side so she can see where she's going, lol. However, I still prefer a wallet, lol. And yes, my wallet is actually down to my leg, LOL...you know me too well :)

I attempted carrying a purse for about a day and a half. I carried purses to proms/homecomings...but not for all of them. Listen...I go with the wallet. It sits in my back pocket, I don't have to hold it (unless I am making a quick run to Go Mart with shorts that have no pockets). I wear men's shorts that have BIG pockets in them (another reason why I hate womens clothing...they always have itty pockets). So I can carry a lot of crap in my pockets (keys, cell phone, pocket knife...or 3 sometimes, lol...snus, yes that's right, I am no longer using Skoal, I have transitioned to spitless, lol, and when Shelley and I go out, I usually carry her wallet and keys too). So my pockets are full, and in the winter time, I wear a very nice coat with a whole lot of hidden pockets for ear muffs, gloves...blah blah...usual winter shit.
Purses, to me, are a pain. They're always in risk of getting lost or stolen. If someone steals my wallet, I'm pretty sure I'll feel someone grab my ass (unless they are professional pick pockets). So I feel more secure with my wallet, lol.

I never worry about my purse being stolen because I never let it out of my sight. If I'm in a place where I know that the risk of it being stolen is higher, I grip it really tight under my arm so somebody couldn't just snatch it off of my shoulder. I'm really careful about that. You know what might help (sitting on a wallet is bad for your back, although I'm sure your pants are so big that the wallet is more like on your leg than your ass) and all that heavy stuff in your pockets is going to cause your pockets to fall our of your pants, a messenger bag. You don't have to get the really big ones, they make smaller ones (*ahem* I believe my cafepress shop has one :) ) You just sling them over your shoulder and all your stuff is inside. We carried them in college and when we had to sit down or go out, we put them between our ankles. Annie might even fit in one, she can just poke her head out of the side.
