28 Days

Lukas and I hop a plane headed for Philadelphia in 28 days.  I’m NOT looking forward to that flight.  TODDLER.  MADE TO SIT STILL.  FOR FIVE MOTHERFUCKING HOURS.  I’m shitting my pants here.  I kid you not.  But, it’s a means to an end and I know that it has to be done so I’m going to suck it up, see if I can con my mom into buying me an “adult beverage” and get it over with. Momma’s comin’ home babies.

Lukas is so funny about the packing process.  I can’t get anything done with him awake because, well, he’d eat the boxes and bubble wrap and newspaper and whatever it is that I’m trying to pack.  The kid chewed his crib to oblivion, I try to monitor what is set in front of him.  Anyhow, since he is under the impression that he is a beaver, I do packing at night after he has gone to bed.  Since things are kicking into high gear, he comes downstairs in the morning and sees pieces of furniture missing, bare walls, missing curtains, he’s just stunned by the change.  He will run up to the changed spot, point at it and say, “WOW!”  And folks, let me tell you that it is the cutest fucking thing in my day.  He’s cute and he’s mine.

Okay, I’ve found another charity cause that I’d love to share with you all.  Visit this website and have a peek.  I find it amazing that something as simple as school supplies are enough to make a child’s week.  That tears at my heartstrings like you wouldn’t believe.  So I’m doing it!  I’m going to go to Target or WalMart or a craft store and I’m going to buy some totes and stuff them full of pencils, chalk, notebooks, crayons, erasers, colored pencils, construction paper, binders, and all of those other things that remind me of being a kid in September.  Bless this blogger for pointing it out.  We all like to say that everybody has the right to an education, but when things like enough chalk for teachers is hard to come by, we have to step up.  For the kids.

On an unrelated note, and this is mostly for Aschlie, MWC and SMP will not be shut down for a week during this move as I had previously stated.  So you can look forward to updates and pictures almost as soon as we are comfortable in Pennsylvania.

So on with the move.  I can’t believe I’m doing another cross-country move.  This had better be the last one, damn it.
